Testimonials

“I really thought our relationship was heading for divorce. We were just so disconnected from one another. Larissa helped us remember why we got married in the first place and taught us some really important things that helped us save our marriage. Our experience was nothing but positive, even the moments that were really hard.”  – G. Fortin

“My girlfriend and I started seeing Larissa when we hit a rough patch in our relationship. We knew that we loved each other but it seemed like all we did was fight. I was hesitant to agree to go to relationship coaching because I thought all we’d do is talk about our feelings and that I’d be blamed for everything that was wrong. I was so relieved when I realized that it wasn’t like that at all. Larissa is really down to earth but also uses a lot of brain science in her work, which was really helpful for me.” – R. LePage

Relationship Coaching

Have you been feeling disconnected from your partner for a while now and despite all your best efforts to improve things, it just doesn’t feel like it’s getting any better?

Do you wonder if you’re just too different? The once endearing quirks have long since become tiresome and annoying. You’re burnt out, stretched thin, unappreciated, and tired of fighting.

Turns out, there is some truth to that old idiom: “opposites attract.”

We often end up in relationships with people who are quite different than us. Why? Because when your relationship is in balance it’s a magical combination. They can step forward in the areas where they excel and then step back and allow you to take the lead in areas where you are strongest.

But when things become unbalanced a phenomenon called negative sentiment override creep in and erodes your connection.

The great news is that there has been extensive research on what it takes to keep partners connected and a relationship healthy. We can help you to work through past hurts, get to the heart of underlying issues and then help you to utilize your strengths, along with some newly learned skills, to get things back on track.

Relationship coaching isn’t just for those that find their partnership in trouble, it can also be very beneficial for solid relationships that want to be even stronger. Even the healthiest of connections benefit from the guidance that an impartial coach can provide.

Testimonials

“My partner and I started seeing Larissa about a year after we had our baby. Our relationship was okay but we both felt like we were in a rut and didn’t know how to get out of it. Larissa helped us to realize how important it was for our family to make sure that we continued to make our relationship a priority and didn’t allow ourselves to lose our connection during the transition from being a couple to being a family.”

– K. Lawrence

“I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Larissa. She is intelligent, professional, compassionate, and very skilled at what she does. We learned so much in the time that we worked with her. I came away from that time with a much deeper understanding of myself AND my partner. We communicate better than we ever have and I actually feel like we’re a team again!”

– A. Foster

What we do:
  • Use research-based assessments to determine strengths and areas that need attention in your relationship – allowing us to be more efficient in the work we do so you see results sooner.

  • Teach you and your partner important skills that lead to better communication

  • Teach ways to resolve conflict and find compromise

  • Recognize reactivity that damages your relationship and learn to manage these intense emotions

  • Establish personal goals and then hold you accountable to help you achieve them

  • Work through betrayals and rebuilt trust

  • Work collaboratively with you – we are experts in relationships but you are the expert in your relationship.

What we don’t do:
  • Do the work for you – we can give you the skills but you’ll need to be ready to put them into practice

  • Tell you what you want to hear – we offer an objective perspective so you can see yourself in new ways

  • Be judgmental – we always work from a place of kindness and compassion, we will never judge or shame you.

  • Treat you as if you’re crazy or broken, because you’re not.

  • Allow you to stay small (you are capable of doing hard things, we’ll help you to get out of your own way)

  • Diagnose you – we do not treat mental health conditions so we will not pathologize you.
